I made myself a little Paris bucket list when I first moved here all the way back in September, adding to it each time I came across something I wanted to do.
I am incredibly proud to say that a couple of days ago, on my last weekend in Paris, I completed it.
This evoked a strange mix of triumph and defeat, as I’ve now taken everything I wanted to from the city. Of course, there are endless things to do here and I have only just begun to scratch the surface, but for this year I can honestly say I am leaving having done everything I wanted to do.
1. Climb the Arc de Triomphe

2. See a show at the Moulin Rouge

3. Go to Parc Asterix

4. Have a picnic by the Seine (I didn’t stop at one)

5. Buy flowers from the Notre Dame flower market

6. Watch a film at an open air cinema

7. Go on a boat tour

8. See something at the Opera Palais Garnier

9. Do a wine tasting (or three)

10. Buy a book in ‘Shakespeare and Company’

11. Go on a bike tour

12. Have a drink on the roof of Galeries Lafayette

13. Visit Rue Crémieux

14. Try an Angelina hot chocolate

15. Have a cheese fondue (thank you to my sister for demonstrating)

16. Go to Disney

17. Explore the Christmas markets

18. Have a drink at a rooftop bar

19. Go on a bus tour (one upped myself and went on a BURGER bus tour)

20. Walk along the Canal St Martin

21. Go down into the Catacombs

22. Visit the Marche aux Puces

23. Watch dance classes by the Seine

24. See the Eiffel Tower from Square Rapp (bit random but I’d seen it on a few blogs)

25. Climb the Notre Dame

26. Have an Amerino ice cream

27. Explore Le Marais

I also had a list of parks, museums and other sights I wanted to visit. It doesn’t include a lot of the main ones Paris is known for as I had seen them before.
1. Hotel des Invalides

2. Pantheon

3. Versailles

4. Jardin du Luxembourg

5. Musée Picasso

6. Bois de Boulogne

7. Galeries Lafayette

8. La Defense

9. Père Lachaise

10. Grand Palais

11. Musée Rodin

12. Parc Monceau

13. Parc des Buttes Chaumont

14. Jardin des Plantes

Anyone who knows me at all will know that I have had the most spectacular year in Paris. There is not an ounce of doubt in the fact I will be back, and in the meantime I will reminisce and probably have a meltdown over photos.
Best wishes from, for the last time, Paris x
Looks like you managed to fit in loads of things, congrats! I think the Catacombes are probably one of the coolest sights in Paris. Hope you’ll have a nice time at home and won’t have the Paris blues! xx
